FlipMat Benefits Flipmat® was designed primarily for Optical mice, but works just as well for ball mice.Optical mice use a camera taking thousands of pictures a second (not a laser beam). It identifies Optical Anchor Points (OAP's), from which distance and directions are calculated. Flipmat® contains millions of OAP's on each mat to assist in this registration.Flipmat® contains a specially formulated additive that we engineered called Textron. Textron provides Teflon mimicking qualities to the surface of the Flipmat®. This ensures smooth movement of the mouse. This assists in reducing the effects of RSI for those that spend hours on the computer each day.Optical mice only need a registration surface of 120mm x 108mm or 13,000 sq mm (approx). Flipmat® is a generous 225mm x 155 mm or 35,000 sq mm (approx), more than twice that area. Our product testing included 1000's of hours of usage with all types of optical or ball mice.A specially extruded plastic provides a unique embossed texture that provides depth of field for the pictures taken by the optical mouse to assist in registering the Optical Anchor Points (OAP's). For those using the old ball mouse system, the embossed surface also assists in traction for the old style tracking mouse.Another feature of our Textron additive is it provides anti static resistibility. Static build up is non existent upon your Flipmat®. This provides a safer work environment and protection of computers. Dust build up due to static electricity is removed also ensuring the mouse does not get affected by grime and debris as easily.

FAQs Q: How long will the Flipmat last? A: Your Flipmat® will last for years under normal use. Q: Why is the design like it is? A: The design of the Flipmat® is specially formulated to ensure the most accurate and efficient movement of the mouse and the pointer on the computer screen. Within the design are millions of hidden Optical Anchor Points. Q: How long will it take to receive my order? A: 14 working days from art work approval and deposit payment. Q: My Flipmat is a little bit dirty – can I clean it? A: Yes – just clean it by wiping with a dry cloth every month. Q: Why can’t I just use my desk for Optical mice? A: Friction from the desk reduces the efficiency, it can damage the desk. If battery operated, it will run the battery down much quicker. Also refer to the white paper on causes of RSI. Desks only have a few thousand optical anchor points as compared to millions which are integrated into the copyrighted design of the Flipmat®. Q: What stops the Flipmat from slipping? A: Our non slip patented backing took 3 years to perfect. It contains no plasticizers, unlike other slim line mat designs, which rely on adhesive based compounds to stick the mat to the desk.Our non slip backing contains no adhesives, so no leaching of the any substance will be transferred to the desk surface. Our backing is formulated to be resistant to water and with no adhesive is friction activated onto the desk surface.
